The Workhouse Photography Group (WPG) is pleased to announce the opening of our new show at the Vulcan Gallery located in Building W-16 at the Lorton Arts Center in Lorton, VA. The members have assembled outstanding work in a variety of styles, ranging from Carol Simons Huddleston's sensitive black and white images of a military base closure, Wayne Guenther's intriguing wildlife shots from the Galapagos Islands, to Larry Rood's whimsical image of fast food service in Tuscany.
A good day to visit is June 12 when the 2nd Saturday Art Walk will be held. You will be able to join more than 125 Workhouse artists as all studios buildings stay open until 9:00 PM! You will experience first hand the vitality, creativity, and diversity of the artists who make up this unique arts community. Each 2nd Saturday Art Walk features receptions in all Workhouse buildings, where you can meet each building's featured artists(s) of the month. Additional information is available at:

2009 Best of Collector's Showcase Exhibition: Richard Allnutt, July 21-August 15
The winner of the Workhouse Best of the Collector's Showcase 2009 was Richard Allnutt. His solo exhibit will take place in Galley W-16 from July 21 - August 15 and will feature candid, and not so candid, portraiture. Please join us at the opening reception on Sunday, July 25 from 2-4 pm to meet the artist.
Juried Photography Exhibition, July 21-August 15
The Workhouse Arts Center proudly presents the Second Annual Juried Photographic Competition. The selected works will be featured in an exhibition from July 21-August 15 upstairs in Gallery W-16. Both professional and amateur photographers, 18 years and older, are invited to submit up to three photographic images for consideration. An awards reception, open to the public, will take place Sunday, July 25 from 2-4pm in Gallery W-16.
